I was given this book for an honest review. Adriana's is the niece of a mafia boss who's being stalked by a former professor. Adriana,s uncle assigned Danny as her bodyguard. Adriana And Danny grew up together and there's a,ways been an attraction between the two. Danny have been warned by Adriana's uncle not to get involved with Adriana. As they spend time together their feelings grow and they go into a secret relationship. Once their relationship is discovered they both suffer consequences that proves deadly. While Adriana danger get a hold of Adriana, her uncle put his trust in Danny finding his niece. This book is filled with action, suspense, danger and love. Recommended read.

Strong leading characters. Daniel an enforcer for the family, strong and smart. Adriana, the Mafia bosses neice, strong, smart and sassy. Both trying to fight their love for each other as the Don forbids it. A crazy psychopath art teacher, and many twists and turns. Easy and enjoyable to read as everything seems to blend perfectly. A wonderful love story with great characters. Can't wait to download another book from this wonderful and talented author, Lauren Landish. Thank you so much for a great read.
Daniel is an enforcer for the head of the mob, Carlo. He is assigned to protect Adriana who is the niece of Carlo. Carlo gives Daniel one order, to keep his hands off of his niece. Daniel was adopted by Carlo when he was very young. He grew up knowing her when they were children. They have always had feelings for each other. When Carlo finds out that they have been together, he has him beaten almost to death. When he recovers, they still get together. When Adriana gets captured, Daniel also gets caught by Carlos men. They are about to kill him, when they find out that Daniel wants to save her. Carlo tells him if he saves his niece, he will support their union. I enjoyed this story.
I bought this based on the reviews, but I had a really hard time finishing it. In fact I skimmed the last 3rd and didn't feel like I missed anything. It's an okay read with really steamy sex scenes. I can't pinpoint what I found to be lacking other than the characters didn't feel very developed to me, and a lot of the story was based on stereo types. But I liked the idea of it a lot. I'm worried that readers are inflating ARC ratings to keep getting free books, and that might be the case here. Which is sad, since I'm sure the author wants an honest review.

Until one day she comes back home to find her roommate murdered and then all bets are off. Now her uncle gets involved and has protection around her 24/7. One of her main bodyguards is Daniel. Daniel and her are attracted to each other but her uncle said she is off limits to anyone in his staff. Will Daniel be able to keep her safe and keep his hands off of her at the same time or will everything go wrong?
What a new twist to a mafia story! Carlo Bertoli is the Mafia Godfather after his brothers life is taken and he helps raise his niece Adriana and her mom. Daniel Neiman was left an orphan when his parents were killed in a mistaken hit an Carlo takes him in and raises him as his own. Adriana and Dan grow as friends for years and around high school they grow apart. Dan is the best enforcer for the Bertoli Family. Everyone who works for Carlo knows the one rule he has is the Adriana is off limits or you DIE! Adriana has a stalker, ex professor Lorenzo Drake who she tries to deal with on her own until her room mate ends up brutally rapped and killed. Carlo takes over and deals with this his way. Dan is put in charge to protect her at all cost and is warned not once but twice to keep the relationship professional. Once they spend so much time together they find they can not stop their attraction to one another. Envy, jealousy, romance, suspense, good faithful friends, evil enemies are some Are what you will experience in this book. A great read and can not wait to read the next book! I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
I am a huge fan Lauren Landish and grab any book I can of hers and she exceeds my expectations each time. I read one review of her book that completely blew me away. The reviewer made comments about not being realistic and characters not sounding real. First off, it's a book not real life, so while I understand wanting something to relate to in the books we read its unrealistic to think that it's n anyway real word life. We read books to get lost for the moment, take a break from our own lives, relax and yes get our smut! Not every author is going to be able to relate every reader on every level. If you find a book that doesn't fit your reading style than move on, don't bash the writer, simply put the book down and move on. It's unfair to review a book simply because your styles don't match up.

Now that my vent is done, onto the review of this amazing book! Bertoli Crime Family is going to be a series worth reading with book one taking off and paving the way. Daniel and Adriana were childhood friends, living in the Bertoli mansion together they grew up together. As teens they flirted with each other but never pursued anything between them because it was the rule of the Don that non of his men were to touch his niece or they would be killed. Daniel went into the crime family business as an enforcer while Adriana finished school and was pursuing her art degree in college. A crazed professor starts stalking her and kills her bff/roommate and is now after her. Daniel is tasked with protecting her and finding her stalker. Their relationship develops despite the "rule", putting Daniel's life at risk if the Don finds out.
